Department of Media and Communication students get involved in a research project entitled “Mediated Contestation in Comparative Perspective” which is conducted by Mannheim University. The project aims at comparing the national debates of seven democratic countries (Australia, Germany, Lebanon, Switzerland, Turkey, USA) and making a statement about how media coverage of the role of religion in the respective country’s social lives vary between them.
Dr. Eike Mark Rinke and Charlotte Löb from Mannheim University came to Izmir University of Economics Department of Media and Communication for a Content Analysis Workshop between the dates of March 14th and 25th. Media and Communication students, who participated in the workshop for two weeks, learned the principles and application methods of content analysis and had a chance to work together with Rinke and Löb. Students will analyse the Turkish media contents until July 2016.
