Course Objectives This course aims to introduce the essentials of audiovisual content production.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Identify the stages of audiovisual production;
  • Capture video and audio by effectively operating appropriate devices;
  • Edit video and audio to create meaning;
  • Use color correction and color grading techniques on video;
  • Tell a story by combining audio, video and additional visual elements.
Course Description This course uses contemporary hardware and software technologies to introduce the tools, platforms and services used to create audiovisual media content.

1 Introduction to course contents.
2 Digital storytelling in new media platforms. Concepts of idea, audience, planning, production, distribution and evaluating the process of pre-production, production, post-production
3 Introduction to digital video. Imaging sensors, frame sizes, frame rates and recording formats, bitrates
4 Use of tripods and gimbals; cameras and additional equipments
5 Camera movements, angles, shot sizes, composition and interview techniques
6 Introduction to Color Theory. Visible spectrum, color temperatures; color palette and color meanings; complementary and analogous colors
7 Lights used in production process and lighting design
8 Introduction to audio production.Using microphones and recording devices, formats, codecs and compression.
9 Storytelling with editing. Conceptual view and theories
10 Introduction to video edit. General workflow, using proper project and sequence settings, foldering and backup with Adobe Premiere Pro
11 Multicam video editing
12 Color correction/grading with DaVinci Resolve. Exporting projects to various programs
13 Project evaluation
14 Sharing the content and share plan
15 Review of the semester
16 Final project
